Accounting & bookkeeping

Built on trust

Full service tax, accounting, and advisory services tailored to individuals and businesses. We combine technical expertise with personalized attention to deliver exceptional results.

Clean books and dependable closes.

Books exist to answer questions: what did that job make, can we afford this hire, what is actually owed. Books that only get touched in tax season answer none of them.

We keep the ledger current through the year, close each month, and produce statements you can read without a translator, which also makes the tax return cheaper and faster to prepare.

Books that close on schedule

  • Monthly bookkeeping and bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
  • A monthly close with a set of statements and a short note on what changed
  • Payroll coordination and sales tax filings where you need them
  • Accounts payable and receivable tracking
  • 1099 preparation and filing for contractors
  • Cleanup of prior periods when the starting point is a mess

Who it's for

  • Owners reconciling their own accounts at midnight and losing the thread
  • Businesses whose books only get cleaned up at tax time
  • Companies that need statements a lender or investor will accept
  • Anyone who cannot answer a question about last month without a spreadsheet

How it works

  1. We assess what exists

Where the books stand now, and what needs correcting before anything is reliable.

  2. We clean up and set a rhythm

Fix the prior periods, then close monthly from there.

  3. You get statements that make sense

Each month, with the context that explains the numbers.

Common questions

Do I have to switch accounting software?

Not usually. Tell us what you already use and we will work in it. Changing systems is disruptive and we only recommend it when the current setup genuinely cannot do what you need.

My books are badly behind. Is that a problem?

It is common and it is fixable. Cleanup is its own piece of work, scoped separately from ongoing bookkeeping, so you know what the catch-up costs before it starts.

When do 1099s have to go out?

Form 1099-NEC for contractor payments is due to the recipient and to the IRS by 31 January. The practical problem is usually missing W-9s, which is why we chase them during the year rather than in January.

What is the difference between bookkeeping and a tax return?

Bookkeeping is the ongoing record of what the business did. The return is the annual report of that record to the tax authorities. Good books make the return straightforward; bad books make it an expensive reconstruction exercise.
